One is tea seller, other is temple priest: SP MLA’s jibe at PM Modi, UP CM Yogi

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party MLA Haji Rizwan took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, saying one is a tea seller while the other is a priest of a temple.

Rizwan made the remark while addressing workers of the Samajwadi Party. The Samajwadi Party lawmaker went on to say that both PM Modi and Adityanath do not have a family.

PM Modi claimes that in his youth he worked as a tea seller for his father, and used to serve tea to the customers of his father's tea-stall outside the Vadnagar railway station.

Whereas, Adityanath is the Mahant or head priest of the Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur. He has held the position since the death of his father, Mahant Avaidyanath, in September 2014.
