Not anti-Romeo, UP needs anti-liquor squad: Tejashwi Yadav

Patna: The Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, on Friday, dared the Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath to impose liquor ban on the lines of Bihar.

Son of RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav took to the micro-blogging website Twitter and said that consumption of alcohol is much more dangerous than chewing Paan Masala and Gutka and it should be banned.

Taking a dig at the anti-Romeo squad, which has hit headlines in Uttar Pradesh, Tejashwi said that an anti-alcohol squad also should be formed in the state. He said, “Don’t mislead the people. Alcohol pollutes society and eventually nation. It should be banned.”

It may be mentioned that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, after imposing liquor ban in his state, had advocated total prohibition in Uttar Pradesh. He, however, faced flak from the then ruling Samajwadi Party.
