In a significant development spanning over three decades, the notorious underworld don Mukhtar Ansari, often hailed as the uncrowned king of the criminal world in Purvanchal, is now being held accountable for each of his crimes. Friday, the 27th of October, marks a crucial day for Mukhtar Ansari, the mafia don who successfully unfurled the flag of political triumph through the corridors of crime.

The MP/MLA Court in Gazipur had, on Thursday, 26th October, declared both Mukhtar Ansari and Sonu Yadav guilty in a gangster case. Today, the court is set to pronounce their sentences, adding another chapter to the gang chart that includes charges related to the Kapil Dev Singh murder case and the attack on Meer Hasan.

Mukhtar Ansari, a former legislator, has been behind bars since 2005 and is currently incarcerated in Banda Jail. During Thursday's proceedings, a video conference brought him before the court. As soon as the judge declared him guilty, the color drained from Mukhtar's face. The once defiant figure, known for challenging the laws, stood subdued, appealing for mercy.

The two cases in question involve the murder of retired teacher Kapil Dev Singh in the Suwapur village of the Karanda Block in 2009. Mukhtar Ansari, allegedly in jail during the time of the murder, was implicated through police informants. Despite being charged under Section 120B, the case did not establish his role, leading to his acquittal.

The second case revolves around threats to Meer Hasan's life in the Mohammadabad Tehsil area in 2010. In both instances, Gazipur Police created a gang chart, and Mukhtar Ansari has been found guilty under the Gangster Act in the original cases.

This marks the third time that the mafia don Mukhtar Ansari faces conviction in a gangster case. Previously, he was pronounced guilty in cases related to the murders of BJP legislator Krishna Nand Rai and Avadhesh Rai. In the Krishna Nand Rai case, he received a 10-year sentence, and in the Avadhesh Rai case, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. Avadhesh Rai, the elder brother of Ajay Rai, the current Pradesh Congress Committee President, was shot dead on 3rd August 1991, in the Lahurabir area of Varanasi.

The courtroom drama unfolds today as Mukhtar Ansari, once a powerful force in Purvanchal's political landscape, faces the consequences of his criminal endeavors.
