When Amit Shah tried ignoring Anganwadi workers in Amethi!

Amethi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah, who is known to be very interactive with the people at his rallies, seemed to be escaping from the Anganwadi worker here, where he had come to denounce Congress and its vice president Rahul Gandhi.

Amit Shah, who was in Kauhar here to tell people about the 116 schemes being run by the Centre for the welfare of the people, could only speak for two minutes despite being known as a good orator.

The reason behind his short speech was visibly the slogan-shouting by the Anganwadi workers who had gathered in large numbers at the BJP event to get their demands addressed by one of the most powerful persons in the political circles.

The workers had their handbills in their hands and they successfully tried to get the BJP chief's attention. The Anganwadi workers claimed that the BJP had promised to address their grievances during its poll campaign in Uttar Pradesh, but nothing has been done in this regard so far.

As the situation started to turn against BJP, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's ministers, District Magistrate Yogesh Kumar and police officials even tried to calm down the protesting Anganwadi workers, but it only seemed to be charging them up and shouting the slogans 'Hamari maange poori ho, chahe jo majboori ho' even louder.

The slogan-shouting by the Anganwadi workers, sitting at the distance of 40 meters from the dais, continued for at least 15 minutes which was enough to spoil the mood of the event.

Amit Shah started his speech and described Rahul Gandhi as 'prince'. He went on to claim that the development in Amethi was not because of the Nehru-Gandhi family but due to the continuous efforts of the Modi government at the Centre. People at the event seemed impressed as they laughed loudly and clapped extensively, but the Anganwadi workers clearly spoiled the game plan of Amit Shah, who is widely regarded as one of the biggest and smartest strategists in Indian politics.

The intensifying protests forced his to windup his speech within two minutes and immediately rush towards the helipad. He was followed by CM Yogi Adityanath and other ministers of the state government.

Amethi DM Yogesh Kumar, however, tried to defend the government as he said that a state-level team has been formed and any decision would only be taken after receiving the report from them.
