'Y' category to five Akhilesh and Ramgopal loyalists in UP but why ?

Lucknow: Re-conciliatory moves are on but the clash within the ruling Yadav clan in Uttar Pradesh is far from over. New moves may have been camouflaged as showing all sharing a common stage but what is not shown is the absence of common thought process.

The latest ploy to placate the warring members of the party, Akhilesh Yadav-led UP government has given 'Y' category security to five leaders of the ruling Samajwadi Party who are considered close to recently reinstated National general Secretary Ramgopal Yadav and chief Minister Akhilesh himself. These 'privileged' five included MLC Arvind Yadav,an expelled leader from SP, MLA Raju Yadav, MLC Rakesh Yadav 'Guddu', SP leader Atul Pradhan and expelled P D Tiwari. Interestingly, of these, two have not even been reinstated in party after having been expelled from the party last month.

Why it is creating Buzz

Although this may be a routine process but its creating buzz because all of these leaders are close to Akhilesh Yadav and Ramgopal Yadav. Arvind Yadav is nephew of Ramgopal Yadav and is still expelled from party. Atul Pradhan’s party ticket to contest from Sardhana assembly constituency has been changed but is considered to be a member of Kitchen cabinet of Akhilesh Yadav.

This move is clearly to put the Akhilesh camp (including Ramgopal) on better footing but certain to upset Shivpal Singh yadav, who happens to be the state party President.

What is Y security

'Y' category has a security cover of 11 personnel including 1 or 2 commando with advantage of two personal security officers (PSOs). Administratively, there is a specified procedure as who could get 'Y' security but in the political domain of Uttar Pradesh, it is more of a status symbol to the leader associated with the ruling party.

In present situation its quite evident that this move will be used to further ratify the HUM SAATH SAATH HAIN stance which was architectured in front of media and public in the inauguration ceremony of Agra-Lucknow Expressway on November 21 last when all the family members were in the same photo frame.
