Lucknow: In the last year of its tenure, the Uttar Pradesh government is sending a 17-member delegation on 17-days trip to three countries for parliamentary studies under Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA).

The 'junket' of the delegation which comprised of some senior ministers and legislators will commence on Saturday when they are scheduled to leave for Japan from New Delhi. It includes ruling Samajwadi Party members and one member each from Congress and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) beside Principal Secretary, Vidhan Sabha Pradeep Kumar Dubey and tour coordinator Sukesh Bahadur Satyavakta.

Surprisingly, the delegation will be visiting the countries where no official meeting of CPA is taking place while one of these three countries i.e Japan is not even member of CPA. Politicians will be visiting Japan, New Zealand and Australia with an aim to strengthen the India’s parliamentary system.

Delegation will be led by UP Assembly Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey with Mohammad Azam Khan, Raghuraj Pratap Singh, Om Prakash Singh, Asha Kishor, Chaudhary Faseeba Basheer alias Gazala Lari, Anoop Gupta, Pradeep Mathur, Dalvir Singh, Arun Kumar Kori, Abhishek Mishra, Irfan Solanki, Yogesh Pratap Singh, Mohammad Rehan Naeem, Bhagwat Saran Gangwar, Sangram Singh Yadav and Ambika Chaudhary as other members.

CPA meetings scheduled in near future

Guyana: A post election seminar for parliament of Guyana will be held from March 31 to April 1.

United Kingdom: A seminar on ‘Regulating of Information and Communication Technology’ will be held from April 11 to April 15.

Canada: ‘International professional development for parliamentary stafffrom May 16 to May 20.

Brisbane in Australia: A Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) seminar will be held from June 5 to June 11.
