Lucknow: In a major breakthrough, Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh has busted a gang which was indulged in running parallel telephone exchanges.

The ATS has arrested 11 members of the gang who used to run these exchanges in Lucknow and neighbouring districts of Hardoi and Sitapur. The squad has also recovered 18 sim card boxes from the site.

According to ATS spokesperson, "the modalities behind this illegal operation are being looked into."

It is also being ascertained if the overseas calls through these exchanges had been any danger to the national security.

  • Rahul Rastogi, Sitapur
  • Shivendra Mishra, Sitapur
  • Harshit Gipta, Lucknow
  • Vishal Kakkad, Lucknow
  • Rahul Singh, Bulandshahr
  • Vinit Kumar Dixit, Hardoi
  • Rishi Hora, Sitapur
  • Shyam Babu, Sitapur
  • Uttam Shukla, Sitapur
  • Vikas Verma, Sitapur
  • Gulshan Sen, Mehrauli

It could be mentioned that Gulshan was arrested by the Noida ATS team.

The ATS forces have also recovered several sim card boxes, sim cards, pen drives, data cards, laptops, mobile phones, sim card slots and several other illegal equipment.
