Police or goons? UP police brutally tortures innocent boy

Bahraich: Ajit Verma, the Station Officer (SO) of Dargahsharif police station In Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh has been placed under suspension for torturing an innocent boy in the custody for five days.

The boy was taken into the custody on suspicion of a motor vehicle theft and was detained for five days.

Highlights:

• The boy was first called to the police station and taken under custody.
• They beat him brutally and inserted petrol in his private parts.
• They also forced him to urinate on an electric heater.
• The policemen continuously harassed the victim for five days and eventually, freed him when they could not gather any evidence against him.
• The boy was badly wounded when freed and was admitted to a hospital by relatives.
• The Additional superintendent of Police (city) of Bahraich Dinesh Tripathi said that the matter will be investigated.
• The investigation is underway.
