UP CM suspends excise officers of three districts before Holi

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday ordered to suspend excise officers of Jhansi, Agra and Lakhimpur Kheri districts.

These officers found unable of meeting the revenue targets during the review of revenue receipts of the excise department, said an official spokesperson.

The action:

• Disciplinary actions have been ordered against the officers in many districts.
• The excise officers in Sitapur, Agra, Kheri, Meerut, Kanpur, Jhansi, Mainpuri, Allahabad, Jalaun and Siddharthnagar failed to meet the revenue targets
• Deputy excise commissioner of Lucknow range has been transferred with immediate effect.
