Lucknow: In yet another sensational crime in the state capital of Lucknow sending shock waves among the citizens, two young girls -- Sonam (16) and Aarti (24), daughters of a retired defence personnel, were found murdered in their home in Ram Vihar colony in Para locality of the city on Tuesday.

While one body was recovered from a bedroom, the other was found lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen with their throats had been slit, police said. It was in the series of criminal incidents which took place in Lucknow during last few days.

The father of the deceased girls, L.B. Singh, told police that his son had gone for work and he, along with his wife Renu, had gone for some medical tests at the Command Hospital in the Cantonment area. As they returned around 9:30 a.m from the hospital only to find dead bodies of their daughters.

After an on-site inspection, Inspector General of Police (Lucknow) A. Satish Ganesh told reporters that teams from the crime branch and forensics had been requisitioned and police would be able to say anything concrete only after they filed their reports.

Admitting the crime was sensational to take place in the state capital, the IG said it looked like someone had entered the house with the intention of robbery but killed the two girls after they apparently tried to resist the robbers.

According to sources, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was semingly upset over the crime situation in Lucknow and other parts of the state and had called UP Director General of Police (DGP) Sulkhan Singh and Principal Secretary (Home) Debashish Panda during the course of Cabinet meeting here on tuesday evening.

Ironically, the senior superintendent of police of Lucknow Deepak Kumar, in an interview to newstrack.com, had claimed of the sound law and order in the state capital.
