Lucknow: In a sensational revelation, close on the heels of a similar case a day before, two more inmates of Girl’s Protection Home in Lucknow were found pregnant on Wednesday.

These girls, one of them is unmarried and 22 years of age, were brought here from Bareilly protection home.

These cases have caused a flutter in the official circles prompting authorities to set up a team to look into the matter.

According to Juhi Singh, the chairperson of UP State Commission of Child Rights, it was a sensitive matter and now every girl would have to undergo medical examinations and responsibility will be fixed in such cases.

It may be recalled that five girls from Lucknow Home were examined at Veerangana Avantibai Women Hospital and two of them were found pregnant.

She said it was suspected that girls over the age of 18 were in the Homes which was against the rules. Also, two girls, who got pregnant, were also sent to rae bareli girls protection home, said Juhi singh adding they would be called back and will be medically examined.

Meanwhile,the Superintendent of the Lucknow Home Rupinder Singh had been suspended while a probe had been launched in the matter.
