Transport employees may join indefinite strike by UP employees

Lucknow: An indefinite strike by state government employees which began on Tuesday may by joined by employees of state road transport corporation, creating further hardships for the common men.

The strike has been so far joined by teachers, laboratory assistants, pharmacists, and hospital nurses. In view of the strike by hospital employees, patients and their relatives suffered a great deal.

Long queues were seen in most of the hospitals because of staff shortage. Vice-president of the Karmachari Sangh, Sunil Yadav ,which has called the strike, claimed that it has been joined by about 22 lakh employees. Excepting engineers’ and some other organisations all had taken part.

He said a delegation of employee met chief secretary Rahul Bhatnagar on Monday. He had assured to fulfil their genuine demands but no concrete action was taken, forcing the employees to go on strike.

The strike, however, has not been joined by the Rajya Karamchari Sanyukta Parishad and its associated bodies.
