‘The Grandest Alliance’ is all set for its joint press conference today

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Supremo Mayawati are going to hold a joint press conference, today in Hotel Taj, to officially announce their alliance for 2019 Polls due by May, according to sources.

SP national general secretary Rajendra Chowdhary and BSP’s national general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra have jointly signed a press invite. The press conference will be held at Lucknow’s five-star hotel Taj.

According to sources, for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the top leaders of both the parties might announce the formalization of the alliance. The seat sharing formula announcement can also be done during this conference.

It is to be mentioned that to defeat BJP, Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav have made plans to leave two seats – Amethi and Rae Bareilly for the Congress.

The press conference, to be held at Hotel Taj at 12pm, will be Yadav’s first conference since his 2017 joint address with Congress chief Rahul Gandhi for the assembly elections.

This joint conference also marks the 25 years of 1993 polls when both the parties came together to contest the elections against the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). Earlier, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Kanshi Ram had joined hands to contest the elections and registered a massive victory.
