Lucknow: After sudden showers in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday night, the meteorological department has forecast more fall in temperature across the state.

UP Meteorological Department Director JP Gupta said that the reason behind the dip in mercury is the heavy snowfall in parts of Kashmir and Uttarakhand.

The MET department further said that Lucknow recorded its coldest day with a minimum temperature of 8° on Saturday amid rains at various parts of the state, including the capital city. It added that such weather is beneficial for the wheat crop.

What else the UP Meteorological Department said?

  • JP Gupta said that the snowfall in the northern India has led to chilling temperatures in the plains.
  • The temperature is expected to fall in Lucknow as well as a few more cities of the state in the coming days.
  • Monday is also going to be foggy in most parts of UP.
  • NBRI Acting Director Dr. DK Utpreti claimed that winter rain is considered beneficial for the wheat crop.

  • Lucknow - 8° (Min) and 20° (Max)
  • Kanpur - 9° (Min) and 22° (Max)
  • Agra - 10° (Min) and 23° (Max)
  • Allahabad - 11° (Min) and 22° (Max)
  • Varanasi - 10° (Min) and 23 (Max)
