Raj Babbar says," I bow before Mulayam Singh Yadav"

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh congress committee President Raj Babbar said that he idolises Samajwadi Party Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and thanked him for supporting the former in political field. Babbar, while addressing media in the state capital said, “I am in active politics because of Mulayam Singh Yadav and will always bow before him.” The UPCC chief who has been with SP before joining the Congress said that he always respected Mulayam.

Babbar also raised hope of alliance between the Congress and SP by stating “Congress has not closed its doors for any such possibility which could benefit people of the state.” He, however, stated, “The party will not enter into an alliance or grand alliance only for numbers, as numbers were not important in UP polls.”

Asked if Congress had got invitation from Samajwadi Party for its silver jubilee function on Saturday, in which all other leaders of the prospective grand alliance have been invited, Babbar said he was not aware if any senior Congress leader is coming here to attend the event. When asked whether he will attend the SP function if invited, Babbar said, “If I get an invitation, I will welcome it and ask my leadership as to what has to be done.”

What Raj Babbar said on Priyanka’s role in UP elections ?

• Priyanka has promised that she will come soon. But how much time she will give and how long she will accompany us are yet to be discussed for chalking out her programme
• If Priyanka gives enough time to the party she could be taken across all the 403 constituencies.

What else Babbar said?

• Babbar was confident that in the upcoming election people will vote for development and BJP will definitely lose the election.
• Party’s nText campaign would promise Shiksha, Surakhsha and Swabhiman to Dalits across the state.
• This will be a door-to-door campaign which would start from the second or third week of November.
• Party’s Vice president Rahul Gandhi has been also invited for the campaign.
