IT raid at residence of contractor in Lucknow; Rs 30 lakh in new currency seized

Lucknow: Income Tax sleuths conducted raid at the residence of a businessman, Babbu Singh at Krishna Nagar area here and seized Rs 30 lakhs in Rs 2000 currency notes.

Sources from the Income Tax Department said that a sack full of old currency notes also have been recovered during the raids, the counting for which will be done later.

Meanwhile, raids are still in progress in the premises of the contractor.
