Lucknow: All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) declared the Sharia laws of triple talaq' and more than one marriage to be legitimate.

The board proclaimed the Sharia laws like four weddings and three-time divorce are righteous in Islam and that the court should not interfere in internal matters of the community.

Highlights:

  • The AIPLB chaired a meeting at Nadwatul Ulama institute in the state capital on Saturday.
  • The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Owaisi had also attended the meeting.
  • Board member Zafaryab Jilani said the court had no right to release an order against the Sharia laws.
  • The board members think that interference of Supreme Court in communal matters is not justifiable.

What else Jilani said:

  • Talking about the Yoga education, Jilani said the Indian constitution does not allow religious teachings in private and aided schools.
  • How come the ‘Surya Namaskar’ and ‘Yoga’ in schools were declared lawful at Rajastahan in 2015?
  • The men in Islam are allowed to marry up to four women.
  • It was never an issue among Muslim women that they were not allowed to offer ‘namaz’ in mosques and the topic was not worth discussing about.
