Petition filed against AIMIM president Owaisi in Lucknow

Lucknow: A petition against All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi in Lucknow was filed in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Nitish Kumar on Tuesday.

Advocate Shailendra Patel, in his petition pleaded the court to register a case of sedition against Owaisi for his statement on not saying ‘Bharat mata ki jai’.

The issue:

• Owaisi made a statement that he will not say ‘Bharat Mata ki jai’, on March 13 last in Latur of Maharashtra.
• The hearing on this case has been fixed for Wednesday.
