Lucknow: Aparna Yadav, the younger daughter-in-law of the Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, might refuse the party (SP) ticket from Cantonment assembly seat in Lucknow for 2017 elections.

According to internal sources, Aparna is not happy with the assembly ticket as she was eyeing Lok sabha ticket from Uttar Pradesh but the ticket to assembly surprised her. Moreover, the caste equations on cantonment seat have also been unfavourable to the party candidates in the past.

No family backing:

  • It is said that most of Mulayam’s family members, including Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, were opposed to her entry in politics.
  • In fact, she was given the assembly ticket under compulsion owing to her liking for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
  • The internal sources claim that all is not well within the household over her entry into the politics.
  • The elder daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav, the wife of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, is already party MP from Kannauj parliamentary constituency.
