Modi magic lock adores a house vacated by a Samajwadi candidate

Lucknow: Call it a coincidence or whatever else, the lock used for closing the government accommodation provided to Samajwadi Party leader, Ravidas Mehrotra, who vacated it on Friday because of defeat in recent assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, had the brand name Modi Magic.

It may be his way of accepting the fact that it was because of Modi charisma that his party was decimated in the state and the BJP secured the largest number of seats--312 in a House of 403 members. Or, it may the handiwork of some BJP hardliner.

Whatever may the reason, the outer lock on the vacated house, has become a source of much amusement to others.

Mehrotra had contested from Lucknow central constituency where he was defeated by BJP by a small margin of about five thousand votes.

His party which had bagged 224 seats in the previous assembly polls could get less than 50 seats in the recent election. All the defeated candidates of the party have to vacate houses allotted to them because of their elections to the state assembly.

Mehrotra is among the few who have moved out just a week after the election results were out.
