Fog hampers lives in Uttar Pradesh's Capital

As many as five people have lost their lives and more than 20 others been injured in road accidents that occurred in last 10 days due to dense fog in capital city of Uttar Pradesh.

Lucknow: As many as five people have lost their lives and more than 20 others been injured in road accidents that occurred in last 10 days due to dense fog in capital city of Uttar Pradesh. Most of the accidents took place either in morning or in the evening when the visibility was poor.

Lucknowites held improper street lights on Highways and city roads, signboards san reflectors and ditches on roads responsible for these mishaps.

Date-wise Incidents due to foggy weather:

November 29: The first incident of the season occurred on NH-24 at Bakshi Ka Talab. The accident left 12 people injured.

December 5: At least 5 people were killed and four others sustained injuries on Jail road under Gosainganj .A speeding tanker rammed into a tempo in the area.

December 1:At Mohanlalganj a biker rammed into a truck while two bikers collided in Cantt area.

What SP (Traffic) Habibul Hassan said:

  • Directions have been issued for additional deployment of traffic cops.

  • Traffic police department has asked the Lucknow Municipal Corporation to ensure that all streetlights functions properly.

  • People should also take care while driving in the fog. They should wear seat belts and helmets.People should also follow speed limits and use indicators.
