Lucknow bench of Allahabad HC provide relief to shikhshamitra

Lucknow: Extending a helping hand to Shikshamitra, who had done a two -year stint as ‘Vishisht Bachelor's Training Course (BTC)’, the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court has permitted them to apply for the post of permanent teachers in primary schools.

The order given by the single bench of Justice D K Upadhyay will help a large number of such teachers. They were not allowed to apply for over 16,ooo vacant, posts for assistant teachers.

What the court said:

• The court has ordered the Uttar Pradesh government to let the qualified candidates apply for the post.
• The bench also asked the state government for the counselling of those teachers.
• The court has stayed the result of candidates who had applied for this post till next hearing.
• The next hearing in this case has been fixed for August 1.
