UP Polls: BJP will win over 50 seats in first phase, says Amit Shah

Lucknow: Challenging other political parties, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Sunday claimed that BJP will win over 50 seats in the recently concluded 1st phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

He further went on claiming that BJP will win over 40 seats in the second phase elections. Terming 'SP-Congress' pact as an impure alliance, Shah said both parties are corrupt and spread hatred among people. He said 'Acche Din' could only come, if BJP comes to power in Uttar Pradesh.

BJP chief said 'Acche Din' for UP will begin from March 11, when BJP will outclass other parties.

"People of Uttar Pradesh have welcomed the manifesto of BJP. Akhilesh asks when 'Acche Din' will come, I say that when Samajwadi Party will be dethroned, only then UP people will witness good days," said Shah while addressing a press conference here.

Questioning Akhilesh Yadav about the change in the Samajwadi Party, Shah said, "I want to ask the Chief Minister of of Uttar Pradesh to tell us regarding the change in SP? Whether it is Shivpal Yadav or Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, all were in SP."

What else Shah said?

  • In the second phase, our major competition is with Bahujan Samaj Party while in the remaining phases, Samajwadi Party will be BJP's prime competitor in UP polls.
  • Public is satisfied with the works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • People of UP have tested both SP and BSP, and now they know that it is only BJP which wants to develop the state.
