Skill Development Service: Another stream for IAS aspirants

Lucknow: As a good news for Civil Services aspirants, a new All India service Indian Skill Development Service (ISDS) is being created by the Government of India.

Efforts are afoot to include this service in the Union Public Service Commission exams 2016 but owing to some paper work left, it looks like a difficult task this year but a certainty next year. It will mean more vacancies for the aspirants taking exam for premier services of the country, official sources said.

At present, there are 22 services including IAS, IFS, IPS are on offer for civil services aspirants. After addition of ISDS ,there will be 23 services up for grab.

The notification for August 7, 2016 preliminary exam for Civil Services is expected to out any time, the examinees are keeping their fingers crossed for more vacancies in the form of ISDS. The last time, new service was added to Civil Services was Indian Corporate Law Service in 2009.
