RKS Rathore replaces DIG DK Chaudhary, eight IPS reshuffled

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday reshuffled eight Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, according to official sources.

The transfers of the police officials include two Deputy Inspector General (DIG) level officers.

DIG Devendra Kumar Chaudhary, who was posted in Lucknow has now been sent to PAC headquarters on the same post while R K S Rathore has been named as the new DIG.

Transfers of SPs

  • Umesh Kumar Singh sent to Hardoi.
  • Alankrita Singh sent to Hapud.
  • Anish Ahmad sent to PAC Varanasi as commandant.
  • Yogesh Singh sent to PAC Ghaziabad as commandant.
  • Harish Kumar attached to DGP office Kucknow.
  • Pankaj Kumar sent to Unnao as SP PTS.

DIG DK Chaudhary was removed unceremoniously:

Chaudhary was recently suspended and then reinstated for slapping a poor street vendor in Amrapali market of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. His video of slapping the vendor went viral on the social media and he was suspended on the orders of Chief Minister.
