Demand to declare Maharana Pratap Jayanti a holiday

Lucknow: U P governor Ram Naik promised on Monday to forward the demand of the Kshatriya Samaj to declare Maharana Pratap jayanti s as a national holiday. This assurance was given by him to the organisation after garlanding the Pratap’s statue at Hussainganj crossing here.

The governor said the brave warrior had a never say die attitude and it should be a source of inspiration to the youth of this country. Reasonably, therefore, his name has been inscribed in golden letters in the country’s history, he added .

Two historical figures, Maharana Pratap and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who hailed from Rajasthan and Maharashtra ,respectively,never compromised on the issue of nationalism.
