Deaths due to Poisonous Liquor in Lucknow; Police Commissioner removed

The government removed Lucknow Police Commissioner Sujit Pandey late on Tuesday night. In his place, ATS ADG DK Thakur was appointed Police Commissioner of the capital Lucknow.

Lucknow: The Yogi government has taken stern action in the death due to drinking poisonous liquor. The government removed Lucknow Police Commissioner Sujit Pandey late on Tuesday night. In his place, ATS ADG DK Thakur was appointed Police Commissioner of the capital Lucknow. With this, the state government has transferred three more senior IPS officers. Before Diwali, 6 people died after drinking poisonous liquor.

6 people died due to poisonous drink:

DK Thakur took charge of the new Lucknow police commissioner at midnight. Before Diwali, Sujit Pandey was removed from Lucknow due to a poisonous liquor scandal in Banthra. So far, 6 people have died due to poisonous drinking and 7 people are seriously ill.

Sujit Pandey transferred to Sitapur:

The new Lucknow Police Commissioner DK Thakur is a 1994 batch IPS officer. Along with this, he has also held the post of SSP of Lucknow. Apart from this, GK Goswami, who returned from central deputation, has been appointed as ADG of ATS and Rajkumar has been made ADG Personnel. Sujit Pandey has been transferred to Sitapur and ADG (ATC) has been made Sitapur.

Deaths on eve of Diwali in Lucknow:

A number of adulterated liquor was sold by a government co-ordinator of Banthra area of Lucknow, capital of Uttar Pradesh. Many people were affected by this. Magistrate investigation is going on in this case. With this, the police arrested two people and the shop of the accused has been sealed. The Yogi government came under attack from the opposition after this incident happened before Diwali. Now the government has taken strong action.

Two accused under arrest:

Action was also taken on several excise officers in the poisonous liquor case. Excise Inspector Alok Pandey of Lucknow and Excise Inspector RK Singh of Firozabad have been suspended.

DM Abhishek Prakash had directed a magisterial inquiry in the case of death by poisonous liquor. It has been registered an FIR in the case and two accused were arrested and the shop was also sealed.
