COVID19: UP Metro sets up Community Kitchen in their Cafeteria

Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (UPMRCL) today sets up the infrastructure facility of community kitchen in the staff canteen of Transport Nagar Metro Depot to make arrangements of food packets.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (UPMRCL) today sets up the infrastructure facility of community kitchen in the staff canteen of Transport Nagar Metro Depot to make arrangements of food packets/boxes under the directions given by Nagar Nigam on regular basis for the casual/migrant workers in distress and stuck in Lucknow during the lockdown after the outbreak of Novel Corona Virus (Covid-19).

UPMRC has joined hands with the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP) to provide relief to the poor & needy people in the time of humanitarian crisis by arranging 500 food packets today for distribution in the labour camp in the city after getting raw materials & essential supplies from Nagar Nigam.

The supply for the food packets are totally depend upon the given demand from Nagar Nigam. This facility of community kitchen is being run by Metro staff deployed at the staff canteen of Metro Depot premises. Yesterday, over 200 packets were distributed to the needy and destitute who have no means of livelihood to feed their families and are therefore suffering from hunger and starvation.
