BSP leader Bazmi Siddiqui booked under gangrape case

Faizabad: After Samajwadi Party leader Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, a leader of Mayawati-led Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP), Bazmi Siddiqui, has been booked in a case of gangrape in Faizabad on Saturday.

The senior Superintendent of Police Anant Dev stated, "Five accused in connection with the case have been arrested while one of them is still absconding. The probe regarding the case is underway."

The police said, "The victim alleged that Siddiqui and other accused forcibly entered her residence at Purani Sabzi Mandi locality on Friday. They assaulted the victim and her family members and then they raped her."

The women also claimed that the BSP leader had raped her three months ago, as well, but the police managed to rescue him.

The complaint was filed under Kotwali police station in Faizabad on Saturday.

Calling it a political conspiracy, Siddiqui said that all these allegations are fake. He stated, "There is a BSP wave in the ongoing elections, and I am winning. So the opposition parties are conspiring against me."

About Bazmi Siddiqui:

  • Bazmi is a assembly candidate from Ayodhya constituency of Faizabad.
  • He is the first BSP Muslim candidate from the Ayodhya seat.

It may be mentioned that this is not the first criminal case registered against him. Earlier, he had been accused in many criminal cases in Lucknow and Faizabad.
