Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh BJP president Keshav Prasad Maurya on Thursday visited KK hospital in Lucknow to meet ailing Swati Singh.

Swati, the wife of expelled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dayashankar Singh was admitted to the hospital two days ago due to weakness.

“The party is with Swati Singh and her family. The party will not let injustice happen to Swati and her daughter,” Maurya told reporters after meeting Swati.

It is also being believed that, BJP may field Swati in the coming Vidhan Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, as she has now become a popular face after the absurd remarks made during Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) protest few days ago.

It may be mentioned that derogatory slogans were made against the female family members of Dayashankar Singh by Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) protestors in retaliation to the ‘Prostitue’ comment made by Singh on blue brigade chief Mayawati.

The BSP had protested on July 21 last and BJP then started its ‘Beti Ke Samman Mein Bhajpa Maidaan Mein’, protest demanding the arrest of senior BSP leaders including Naseemuddin Siddiqui, Mewalal, Satish Mishra and party workers.

An FIR under sections 143 and 341 was also registered against BSP top brass for violating section 144 of the Criminal Procedure and holding the protest without permission on July 24 last.
