Allahabad High Court orders enquiry against ADG and former DGP

Barabanki: The Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court has ordered a CBCID enquiry against former Directorate General of Police Vikram Singh and Additional Directorate General of police Brijlal along with 42 other police officials, in connection with the death of serial blast accused Khalid Mujahid.

The court has rejected the final report on the terrorist’s death in which all police officers were declared innocent.

The Incident:

  • The courts of Lucknow, Varanasi and Faizabad witnessed serial blast in the year 2007.
  • Khalid Mijahid and Tarik Kasim, both residents of Jaunpur, were arrested by the police in this regard.
  • Khalid Mujahid died in mysterious circumstances while he was being taken to the court on may 18, 2013.

Kins claimed Khalid was murdered:

  • Kahild’s family members alleged that his death was a well planned murder.
  • A case was registered against the ex-DGP, ADG and 42 other police officers, after Mijahid’s family took to the street .
  • The Barabanki police had submitted the final report in this case declaringl all the police officers innocent.

High Court orders:

  • Advocate Randhir Singh, who was representing Mujahid filed a petition in Court saying that the police is trying to save the accused officials.
  • Advocate Singh said that he has full faith in the CBCID investigation.
  • He said that he is assured that the investigation will lead to punishment of accused officials.
