16th edition of National Blind Cricket Tournament starts in Lucknow
Lucknow: The opening ceremony for the 16th edition of Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Blind Cricket tournament took place in the K D Singh Babu Stadium,here, on Wednesday.
Lucknow: The opening ceremony for the 16th edition of Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Blind Cricket tournament took place in the K D Singh Babu Stadium,here, on Wednesday.
The tournament was inaugurated by the Chief Justice of High Court Amreshwar Pratap Shahi along with BSP leader Satish Chandra Misra.
Today, the lucknowites will witness four matches. The first match took place between uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. It is a 20-over match.
The schedule of today's cricket matches:
- First Match: Uttar pradesh- Maharashtra.
- Second Match: Himachal Pradesh- Jharkhand.
- Third Match: Haryana-Odisha.
- Fourth Match: Bihar- Rajasthan
What Satish Chandra said?
- The tournament has successfully completed the 15 editions.
- Our aim is to show the world that the blind people do not need any kind of sympathy.
- They are special in their own way.
- They should just get chance to show their hidden talent.
- When the first edition of the tournament was organised, we did not have so much resources.
- But as soon as the Bahujan Samaj party came to the power, we also built the Universities and schools for Divyangs.
