Lucknow residents pay emotional tribute to Dr Jagdish Gandhi

Lucknow, January 23: The huge auditorium of City Montessori School was abuzz with activity but this time the vibes were different as huge crowds gathered to condole and offer their tribute and pay homage to the doyen of education, Dr Jagdish Gandhi, the Founder of the world's largest City Montessori School. Dr Jagdish Gandhi's body was laid to rest in state in the auditorium of CMS Gomti Nagar Extension so that visitors and Lucknow residents may get a last glimpse of their leader and guide. Students, parents and teachers poured into the auditorium to offer flowers and pay homage to the departed soul recalling the moments spent with him, remembering his teachings and expressing their solidarity for the high deals of peace and unity which he had stood for. On this occasion, Dr Gandhi's immediate family including his wife and soulmate Dr Bharti Gandhi, Co-Founder of CMS, son, Mr Vinay Gandhi, daughters Dr Sunita Gandhi, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, Prof. Nita Gandhi Forouhi and other close relatives as well as Principals, staff members and thousands of Lucknowites offered their respects and paid homage to Dr Jagdish Gandhi's physical body resting here.

Chief Minister of State, Shri Yogi Adityanath sent a condolence message on the demise of Dr Jagdish Gandhi saying that by imbibing the principle of Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam in himself and in his teachings, Dr Gandhi had inculcated this ideal in lives of lakhs of students. The Ambassador of Maurtius in India also send a message of condolence on behalf of the Govt. of Mauritius. Several leading personalities of Lucknow were present at CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II auditorium and paid homage to Dr Jagdish Gandhi on this occasion, prominent among them being the Deputy Chief Minister of UP, Shri Brajesh Pathak; Former Chief Minister of UP, Shri Akhilesh Yadav; Former Deputy Chief Minister of UP, Dr Dinesh Sharma; Chief Secretary of UP, Shri Durga Shankar Mishra, IAS; Former Minister of UP, Dr Mahendra Singh; Member of Parliament, Smt Rita Bahuguna Joshi; Commissioner of Lucknow, Ms Roshan Jacob; District Magistrate of Lucknow, Mr Suryapal Gangwar, IAS; Mr Vipin Kumar, IAS, Additional Secretary, Food and Supplies; Mr Rajshekhar, Municipal Commissioner, Kanpur, Mr Prashant Singh Atal, Chief Standing Council, High Court; Former Acting Chief Justice, Mr Rakesh Kumar; Mr Justice Shri Vishnu Sahai, Mr Rakesh Kumar, ADM Protocol, Father Lenin Chacko and Father Donald Disouza, Follower of Islam religion Shri Firangi Mahli and Kalbe Sabrain including several administrative officials, police officers, army officers, educationists, literateurs and social activists offered their tribute. Besides, religious leaders of different religions, officials of various political parties and a large gathering of eminent citizens of Lucknow paid their tribute.

Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma informed that a memorial prayer service will be held at CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II auditorium on on Sunday, 4th February at 3.00 pm, where Dr. Gandhi's life will be celebrated and his legacy honoured by family, friends and admirers from around the world.
