LUCKNOW: This year International Women’s Day was celebrated by LIVE Foundation at Sangeet Natak Academy. The event witnessed a huge turn out as people came together to attend the Startup Expo and interact on diverse women-centric issues. Such as Women Entrepreneurship, Women Safety Online, Women Health and Hygiene, Domestic Violence and Sexual Harassment as well as Gender Equality.

Nukkad Natak performance on gender equality. Also, Live performances on Women Empowerment and Self Defence Workshop were the main attractions.

Women Entrepreneurship

Young Girls and Women from different walks of life assembled together and displayed their pop- up stores as leading Women Entrepreneurs and a Panel Discussion was organized to educate them about how to run their business successfully in a StartupinUP and Startup India ecosystem.

Experts such as Pranav Dwivedi, Start-up and Innovation Consultant, Uttar Pradesh Government and Jyotsna Shahi, Deputy Director, Indian Industries Association along with Meetika Srivastava [Co-Founder Millenial Worx] discussed how ideas can translate into successful businesses for these women.

Women are an important part of the society

Pranav Dwivedi discussed how women are an important part of the society and cannot be ignored as their contribution is important for the success of the nation. Whereas Jyostna Shahi shared how women struggle in their families to start their own ventures due to lack of support and it’s important to have good ideas and self-confidence to start a business. Meetika Srivastava shared about how entrepreneurs should be ready to face all kinds of situation and never give up.

Nukkad Natak

Through the medium of Nukkad Natak, a very important message about how society needs to treat women as equal to men was displayed and the audience was extremely invested throughout their performance. Also, a panel discussion later followed about how “Equality begins at Home.” India’s first Single father YouTube Channel host Rohit Rawat along with his son Rishabh and Gargi Chandre [Media consultant for Ministry of Education and Journalist] and Simran Tyagi [Student and aspiring civil administrator] shared their insight about how Equality and Respect starts at home.

Gargi Chandre shared about how her husband is a support system to her. And helps her in all the house chores. Rohit Rawat told everyone about how he manages his work, house and his 3 year old child all alone.

Dr Mukul Srivastava

Dr Mukul Srivastava, Professor and HOD Journalism and Mass Communication Department, Lucknow University. Also, Anupriya Yadav, Assistant professor, Amity University divulged information on online safety for women.

Mukul Srivasatva talked about women online safety aspects. In addition, where he told how it’s important to share only relevant information on the internet. Also, be cautious while posting anything online.

Women Health and Hygiene

Health and Hygiene Check-up booth along with a panel discussion was conducted by Dr.Bhawna Khera, Dr. Sneha Tewari, Richa Nigam [Founder, Nirmal Yoga Meditation Centre] and Ms. Anjali from Water Aid. Dr Bhawna talked about how easy is Breast Self-Examination to avoid any risks of Breast Cancer. Richa Nigam shared about benefits of yoga for women in the society. And how it can help cure any kind of illness.

Other panellist Rupali Vishwakarma [Acid Attack Survivor – Sheroes Hangout] who bared her heart and soul to raise awareness about Violence against Women.

Avantika Nigam along with her team from Champion of Champions Karate Academy performed live demo workshop to spread awareness about safety aspects for women in adverse situations.

The event led its course successfully and moderator Yashasvi Chaturvedi – Co-founder of LIVE Foundation conducted the whole event with poise and grace. As she managed to tie the whole event together.

Anushree Chaturvedi (Founder) along with her entire team worked extremely hard. Also, all present left with great learning and smile on their face.

While every day should be Women’s Day but this International Women’s Day. LIVE Foundation made it possible for a lot of women to come out. And enjoy a day dedicated to them as just themselves, happy. Also, amazing women and tried to change the mind-set of people present their with the bold. And hard-hitting panel discussions.
