The light-weight 'Nirbheek' revolver, a hit among the girls

Kanpur: The lightweight revolver 'Nirbheek' , developed by Field Gun Factory in Kanpur after infamous Nirbhaya gang rape case in New Delhi, has caught fancy of girls in a big way. Encouraged by its success, the factory has come out with a lighter and cheaper version of 'Nirbheek' amid growing demand from the dealers.

The improved model of the revolver is only 500 gms in weight at a cost of Rs 87000, General Manager narendra Kumar said.

The revolver was launched in 2013 after Nirbhaya case of December ,2012. The initial version, meant for girls to keep for self-defence was 750 gms in weight with a price tag of 1.44 lakh. It had some technical complaints which have been removed according to AGM Sanjiv Kumar.
