"After Chhath, the list of transfers for Additional SPs along with IPS officers is expected in Uttar Pradesh. It will predominantly include officers who have been posted in the field for three years or more at the same location or were deployed before assembly elections. The list of transfers for IPS officers in Uttar Pradesh is nearly ready, with expectations of its release after the Chhath festival. Continuous engagements of the Chief Minister have delayed the finalization of the list, which is expected to be released promptly upon the Chief Minister's availability.

**Tilottama Varma's Return from Central Deputation:**

Senior IPS officer Tilottama Varma from the 1990 batch is set to return from her central deputation. Despite formalities being completed, she has yet to join the police headquarters. Currently posted as ADG Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, she is slated to retire in November 2025. Following her return, ADG Rajiv Krishna is expected to be temporarily promoted to the position of DGP for a month. After Mukul Goyal's retirement in February, he is likely to be permanently promoted to the DGP position unless another senior officer returns from central deputation.

In December, Special DGP Law and Order Prashant Kumar is expected to be promoted to the position of DGP, potentially leading to a shift in his responsibilities. The DGP position in the Intelligence department has been vacant since the retirement of Dr. DS Chauhan and is traditionally filled by one of the government's most trusted officers.

Having efficiently handled the responsibilities of ADG Law and Order for almost three years, Prashant Kumar's elevation to DGP could result in Akhil Kumar, currently ADG Gorakhpur Zone, taking over as ADG Law and Order. His transfer is anticipated before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
