UP CM Akhilesh Yadav flags off the first batch of Haj pilgrims

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday flagged off the first batch of Haj pilgrims here from the Maulana Ali Mian Haj house in Lucknow.

The Chief Minister urged the pilgrims to pray for prosperity of their families, society and the country.

“All the religions in the worlds propagate the message of peace, mutual harmony and to work for the prosperity of the society,” Akhilesh said in an official statement released here.

What else he said:

  • Reiterated that the Samajwadi Party (SP) government respects all religions and was working for welfare of all.
  • The state government started religious trips.
  • Lucknow and the Ghaziabad Haj house are used for preparation of competitive exams like IAS, PCS and others, by candidates.
