Massive fire breaks out in a tyre factory in Bhiwandi

Hapur: A massive fire broke out in the plywood factory, here, on Thursday, in which property worth rupees 50 lakh was gutted. There was, however, no loss to life or injuries reported.

More than 3 fire tenders were rushed to the incident spot immediately after the incident. According to the officials, "Though the forces were deployed immediately, it took more than three hours to douse the fire."

The police officials said that the cause of the fire could not be identified. "We are probing the matter," stated a senior police officer.

It may be mentioned that a similar incident took place when massive fire had broke out at the godown of Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (DVVNL) in Agra on February 22. Though, no casualties had been reported.

The incident had occurred due to short circuit and more than six fire tenders were sent to the godown at spot.
