*New Delhi:* Wednesday morning witnessed the onset of dense fog in various districts of Uttar Pradesh and the Delhi-NCR region. In several areas of Delhi, the fog was so thick that zero visibility conditions were observed for the first time in this weather. Cities in Uttar Pradesh, including the capital Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Bareilly, and Jhansi, faced significant difficulties due to dense fog. Visibility decreased to 15-20 meters in several cities.

Commuters were forced to drive slowly, relying on headlights as vehicles cautiously navigated the roads. A similar situation prevailed on Tuesday in half of the state. The meteorological department predicts that such weather will persist until the end of the year. Orange alerts for dense fog have been issued in seven districts of the state, while yellow alerts are in effect for 24 districts. Besides Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, regions in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh are also experiencing challenges due to dense fog, impacting air and rail services.

The impact of the new western disturbance may also be felt in the Delhi-NCR region. Parts of Punjab may experience dense fog until December 31st, affecting Haryana as well.

**Likelihood of Rain in These Regions**
