Five bogies of Howrah bound Dehradun express derails in UP

Faizabad: Five bogies of Howrah bound 13010 Dehradun express derailed near Faizabad station of Northern Railway on Tuesday. No causality has been reported in the incident; however, there was some damage to the coaches.

The incident took place at 14.00 hrs when the train was on its way to Ayodhya from Faizabad at 02:00 pm. Some technical fault was said to be reason behind the mishap as the Government railway Police (GRP) has ruled out any sabotage.

The senior officers who reached the spot supervised the rescue operations and the remaining 16 bogies of the train were sent to the destination, a railway spokesman said.

Meanwhile, the Railways Ministry has ordered probe into the incident while the senior Railway Officers including GM Northern Railway A K Puthia and DRM Lucknow Division A K Lahoti rushed to the site.

The Northern Railway has issued Varanasi helpline number 0542-2503814 in this connection.

Following the derailment, the trains including train no. 13009 Howrah-Dehradun express, train no. 15025 Mau-Anand Vihar Express, train no. 15636 Guwahati-Okha express, train no. 19168 Varanasi-Ahmedabad, train no. 14650 Amritsar-Jainagar express, train no. 13308 Firozpur-Dhanbad express, train no. 19709 Jaipur-Kamakhya express have been diverted.
