This BJP MLA has offered his seat to Deputy CM Keshav Maurya

Allahabad: Vikramjeet Maurya, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator from Phaphamau constituency in Allahabad, has offered his seat to Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya.

It may be mentioned that Phaphamau comes under Keshav Maurya's parliamentary constituency Phulpur.

"I have sent a letter to the BJP leadership offering my resignation as the MLA of the Phaphamau seat. I wish Keshav ji contests election from my seat and ensures his presence in the UP Vidhan Sabha," said Vikramjeet Maurya.

Reiterating that he wanted to see Keshav Maurya as the Chief Minister of the state, the BJP MLA said that he was happy with the party's decision of elevating Keshav as the deputy CM.

It may be recalled that Vikramjeet had been associated to several parties before finally joining BJP in presence of Keshav Maurya in June 2016. He share very close bonding with the UP Deputy CM.

Keshav will have to become a state legislator in the next six months to continue as the deputy CM.
