Azam Khan clarifies his statement comparing Modi with 'Ravana'

Rampur: In what can be called a clarification of his statement, Uttar Pradesh Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and senior Samajwadi party leader Azam Khan, on Tuesday, said the media had presented his version in a way he did not mean it.

"Rather than twisting a simple statement into a controversial one, the media is always welcome to call me up and ask for an explanation if they do not understand the context of what I say," Azam said.

Azam's explanation on his 'Ravana' statement:

Azam stated, "I wanted to say that the Ravana of Delhi is much bigger than that of Uttar Pradesh."

Attacking Modi, the SP leader said that he should not have come to Lucknow to spread communal poison in the city.

"I had not compared the PM to the demon king. Modi is a 'Faqir'(dervish) who dresses up with a budget of Rs 80 crore. Ravana would have spent maximum of rupees 20 thousand on his clothes," he had said.
