Earth Day celebrated in Allahabad; many pledge to save environment
Allahabad: The Earth Day was celebrated at the Chandrasekhar Azad Park here on Saturday with more than 400 school children, morning walkers, civil defence volunteers and common people participating in Painting and slogan writing competition.
Allahabad District Magistrate Sanjay Kumar appealed all attendees to pledge to protect the environment.
The function was presided by Justice Dilip Gupta and Justice Siddhartha Verma while several other dignitaries were among the attendees.
Everyone pledged to plant and save trees, not to use polythene and save ponds, lakes and rivers in their surroundings.
