Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court on Monday disposed of a petition relating to transfer of senior IAS officer Rama Raman from Noida, saying that since he has already been transferred, no order is required to be passed in this connection.

On September 7, the court had reserved its judgment on a PIL relating to transfer of Rama Raman from Noida. On August 22, the court had refused to entertain the preliminary objections raised by the counsels of Rama Raman, questioning the maintainability of the PIL seeking his transfer from Noida.

The decision was delivered by a division bench comprising Chief Justice Dilip Babasaheb Bhosale and Justice Yashwant Varma on a PIL filed by Akhil Bhartiya Samaj Utthan Kalyan Samiti.

The state government had on August 16 informed the high court that it had decided to retain Rama Raman as CEO of Noida as his services were required for the running of the next phase of Metro train from March 2017.

This information was provided by the state government as the court had asked as to whether it was ready and willing to transfer Rama Raman.

Subsequently, the state government announced that Rama Raman had been transferred from Noida. After this announcement, the PIL was being heard on several other issues relating to transfer policy of the government.

The high court had on July 1 barred Rama Raman from functioning as chairman of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Authority.

In the same order, the court had also directed the (Establishment) Board headed by the chief secretary to take a decision with regard to transfer of Rama Raman within two weeks.
