Allahabad HC shimmers like gold ahead of its 150th anniversary

Allahabad: Glittering like gold in colourful lights the Allahabad High Court is decked up like a bride ahead of its sesquicentennial anniversary.

The Allahabad High Court is completing its 150^th year on March 12.

Fact factory:

• Legends have it that there were only five advocates when the Allahabad High Court was established.
• Now more than 20 thousands advocate practice here.
• It was established in 1869 and its name was changed on March 11, 1919.
• It was Allahabad High Court’s verdict that prompted former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to impose emergency.
