Allahabad HC shimmers like gold ahead of its 150th anniversary
Allahabad: Glittering like gold in colourful lights the Allahabad High Court is decked up like a bride ahead of its sesquicentennial anniversary.
The Allahabad High Court is completing its 150th year on March 12.
- Legends have it that there were only five advocates when the Allahabad High Court was established.
- Now more than 20 thousands advocate practice here.
- It was established in 1869 and its name was changed on March 11, 1919.
- It was Allahabad High Court’s verdict that prompted former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to impose emergency.
The guests coming to mark the special day are President, Chief Justice of India, Union Law Minister, Uttar Pradesh Governor, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and many others.
