Lucknow: On the last day of the winter session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, opposition leader and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He criticized the supplementary budget, the state's healthcare system, the progress of metro projects, poor condition of roads, and several other issues, creating a challenging environment for the Yogi government. Yadav questioned the necessity of the supplementary budget, emphasizing that 65% of the previous budget remained unutilized.

He pointed out that with the new budget scheduled to be presented shortly, the urgency for a supplementary budget was unclear. Accusing the government of being visionless, Yadav stated that the BJP's slogan should be "say and do the opposite." He highlighted the discrepancy between the government's claims and actions.

Divergence in Government Statements and Actions

The opposition leader claimed that the BJP government's reality is that it says one thing and does another. He asserted that the dream of a smart city was merely a facade, and the financial minister misled the Chief Minister. According to a magazine's statistics, the state's economy ranks 18th compared to states making progress in the healthcare sector.

Government Hospitals Turning into Brokers' Hubs

Akhilesh Yadav criticized the Yogi government for the state of the healthcare system, alleging that government hospitals have become hubs for brokers. These brokers allegedly redirect patients from government hospitals to private ones. The government aims to privatize state hospitals, and efforts are being made to form private partnerships with medical colleges. Uttar Pradesh has fallen out of the list of states making improvements in the healthcare sector.

Metro Trains: A Gift from Samajwadis

The opposition leader claimed that wherever metro trains are running in the state, it is a contribution of the Samajwadi Party. He questioned when the people of Gorakhpur would benefit from metro facilities. He criticized the allocation of a budget of only 174 crores for the healthcare sector and questioned the need for such a small budget despite numerous challenges.

Roads Longer Than Chief Minister's District

Highlighting the poor condition of roads, Yadav remarked that the Chief Minister's district has 90 kilometers of roads with a budget of 6000 crores. He questioned the state of roads, whether they have potholes or potholes have roads. The opposition leader humorously stated that there are more buffaloes on the roads than traffic police.

More Buffaloes Than Traffic Police on Roads

Commenting on traffic management, Yadav stated that there are more buffaloes on the roads than traffic police. He questioned the presence of buffaloes on Kanpur's roads and suggested increasing the budget for them from 250 crores to 500 crores.
