Fire breaks out in the godown of DVVNL in Agra, no casualties

Agra: A massive fire broke out at the godown of Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (DVVNL) in Agra. Though, no causalities were reported.

The incident occurred due to short circuit in the evening of Tuesday last.

More than six fire tenders were sent to the godown at spot.

The officials said, "The incident occurred at round 1700 hours. We were informed by the nearby people.It took more than two two hours to douse the flames. "

According to the official sources, the godown was located in the Kamala Nagar area of New Agra and was used to store the electrical stuff of Fatehpur division.

More details are awaited.

It may be mentioned that a similar incident took place when a major fire had broken out in fruit and vegetable market, on February 15, in Sadar market of Bijnor.The fire had destroyed the stores before fire extinguishing units were put into action. No injuries, however, had been reported. The loss due to fire was estimated to be around Rs 1 crore.
