13,52,210 land dispute cases resolved so far during Yogi Govt

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a sharp decline in disputes related to agricultural and non-agricultural land as well as revenue collection, in the last four and a half years of the Yogi Adityanath0 Government in the state. The reason behind this has been largely the expedition of the digitalisation process in rural areas and the simplification of the revenue collection procedures on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi.

The Yogi Government started online Heritage Campaign to free villagers from unnecessary land disputes. So far, a total of 13,52,210 cases related to land disputes have been settled through this drive.

The Government also started the Swamitva Yojana (Gharauni) to get villagers their land ownership rights and empower them. Gharauni is done in the name of a female member of the family in order to protect rural women. The Government has distributed rural residential records (Gharauni) to 2,74, 677 land owners in 2006 villages of the state.

In order to empower the landless farmers in rural areas, the Government has also distributed 6371.883 hectares of agricultural land belonging to village societies to 26,149 landless people.

Furthermore, 577 hectares of land has been given to 72,264 families while ponds spread over an area of 24071.685 hectares has been allotted to fishermen. Besides, 9106 hectares of land has been allotted to 7,438 pottery artists.

Soon after coming to power, the Yogi Government simplified the rules to declare agricultural land as non-agricultural land to speed up the industrialisation process. The provision of declaring an agricultural land as a non-agricultural land was implemented in view of the potential use of land for five years. The step has benefited farmers a lot.

The rules and regulations for leasing out private land in the state were also simplified. Now, account holders can lease out their land for 15 years for agricultural work and 30 years for solar energy. The Yogi Government has taken several steps in the last four and a half years to make life in UP's villages easy through better infrastructure and improve the quality of life of the rural folk.
