New Delhi: The head of a Kolkata school had to face ire of School Education Secretary in Government of India Anil Swarup when she repeatedly asked about the recent paper leaks of class 12th Economics and Class 10th Mathematics of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) during an event.

Birla High Schools director Mukta Nain was snapped several times by Swarup during discussion on 'Creating a robust, just, reliable and student-friendly public examination system in India'. In fact, Mukta Nain rose few questions regarding the CBSE paper leak asking why only a single paper set was printed this time, and if there was involvement of CBSE officials in the paper leak.

A furious Union Secretary told her to not to go by the media reports and ascertain the facts before making such sweeping remarks publicly. He went on to make it clear that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had already given a clean chit to the CBSE officials thereby denying any involvement of them in reports about the involvement of CBSE officials in the paper leak. “Were the paper setters and CBSE officials responsible for this leak?” she questioned.

It was when the Director asked if the paper setters responsible for this leak or the tutorial homes earned a lot of money selling the papers to the students. Also, were CBSE officials involved? It was followed by curt intervention of Swarup who advised her to check her facts first.

Later, speaking to media, Mukta Nain stated that whatever she said was in the interest of student community and wanted higher ups to clear the air.
