Water train will be sent to Bundelkhand for the first time

Bundelkhand: After Latur, the Central government has decided to send water trains to parched Bundelkhand areas in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

The first water train will reach Mahoba inUP on May 6, said additional divisional railway manager Vineet Singh.

Jaldoot:

• The water trains coming to Mahoba is at the initiative of Union Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha.
• The train will carry water from Bansagar dam in Rajasthan.
• The decision to this effect was taken on Tuesday evening.
• The strategy to distribute water is yet to be chalked out, said Singh.

It may be mentioned here that Bundelkhand has been facing acute water crisis for many decades.
